HIV & Aging

As of 2024, San Francisco has 15,400 residents living with HIV.

  • 48% are 60+ years
  • 75% are 50+ years
  • 12% of cis-men and 35% of cis-women who were newly diagnosed in 2024 were 50+ years

The HIV & Aging Committee aims to promote conversations, assessments and informative events to spread awareness of the needs of PLWHA over the age of 50 and support community efforts to lower HIV and STI infections in adults over 50 and advocate for policies that improve their quality of life as they age.
